SmartTRAK: My name’s Elizabeth Anderson with SmartTRAK. I’m here today with Dr. Shu-Ling Cheng from Oneness Biotech, and we’re going to talk about their new product, Bonvadis to treat chronic wounds. So to start out, Dr. Cheng, can you tell me a little bit about your background and the development of Bonvadis?
Dr Shu-Ling Cheng:Sure. I’m a PhD with science training in molecular and cellular biology and virology. The Bonvadis product is very unique in terms of the mechanism of action from a science background. The science goes back to 25 years. It originated from the Taiwan Department of Biotech Center that’s focused on Chinese medicine, herbal, that kind of research, because that’s the uniqueness of Asia that is different from Western research. From there, Oneness took that part just to do the formulation. Also, the herbal is pretty challenging in terms of the extraction and the purification, all from the soil, from the plant all the way to the product. So that’s what Oneness does.
Our aim is to make the product very easy for physicians to use and to make it very beneficial to the patient, which in the wound spectrum is very complicated. How we manage to do that is …
