Wound Exudate (Drainage) Volume per Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Among wound care practitioners in any site of care over the past 8 quarters
Report Description
This donut graphic shows the distribution of wound exudate (drainage) levels (None, Minimum, Moderate, Large/high) documented in diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) treatment visits over the last 18 months. The chart reflects only visits where exudate volume was recorded, with each slice representing the proportion of total visits with that characteristic. For example, nearly half the DFU visits in which drainage amount was documented showed that drainage amount was “minimal.” Drainage amount has a direct impact on the category of dressing that would be considered appropriate and/or could be obtained from a DME. For example, certain categories of absorptive dressings can only be used in cases of moderate to large drainage, while other products can only be used in cases of minimal drainage.
