Intellicure Analytics Unveils New Skin Sub Cost-and-Healing Efficiency Graphs to Guide Wound Care Decision Making Ahead of 2026 Reimbursement Changes

The Woodlands, TEXAS (Dec. 11, 2025) — Intellicure Analytics today announced the release of four new interactive Product Ranking graphs that compare the cost and wound-healing efficiency of leading Cellular and/or Tissue-Based Products (CTPs/skin substitutes) across diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), venous leg ulcers (VLUs), pressure ulcers (PrUs), and all wound types combined. These visual analytics arrive at a pivotal moment for the wound care industry as manufacturers, payers, and providers prepare for the 2026 Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule, which will cap national reimbursement rates for skin substitutes at a fixed per-cm² rate.

“These tools offer the market a transparent, evidence-grounded view of product performance at a time when economic and clinical considerations are converging,” said Intellicure CMO Dr. Caroline Fife. “As reimbursement shifts, real-world healing efficiency will matter more than ever.”

The newly released graphs reveal comparative performance across products by displaying each CTP’s cost per cm² alongside the percentage of wounds healed in real-world clinical use. As reimbursement becomes decoupled from commercial pricing, these insights give manufacturers early visibility into how their products may perform when value is measured not only by cost but by healing efficiency. Products demonstrating strong outcomes at lower cost may become more attractive to payers, while products with higher costs or lower healing efficiency may face new scrutiny under the fixed-rate model.

For payers and health plans, the graphs spotlight which products could yield higher clinical value and lower total cost of care under the new pricing structure, which is critical as Medicare seeks to align spending with outcomes. Providers, meanwhile, can use this data to better understand how product selection may affect both patient healing and practice profitability once reimbursement parity goes into effect.
